Most people tend to look for something that's hard to find when it comes to finding (or knowing) themselves. In my experience in counseling and coaching clients, I came across a number of individuals that seem to be facing or experiencing the same dilemma of not knowing who they really are. Most of the uncertainty came from the sense of a loss or unknown identity. Now please allow me to explain this, because I'm not necessarily clinically diagnosing, but I'm attempting to draw on a particular conclusion. When I say loss of identity, I'm not necessarily speaking about "memory loss" or "amnesia" but a kind of uncertainty or they're just out of touch with "themselves". That's why I've titled this blog "Find yourself to know yourself"! Finding something loss can be done by a plethora of ways, one way could be by ones own recollection of their life as they know it. This could be a matter of where your were born, who your parents are or were, and the number of siblings you may have? Maybe, if your parents are still alive, you can ask them questions concerning your childhood; like what kind of child were you? Did you cry allot? Where your spoiled or nurtured? Did you stay with relatives allot when you were small? Things type of questions could be useful in determining things about your personality or moods, likes and dislikes! The importance however of finding yourself is paramount to you actually being yourself, because who you are is really what you become in life. The bible says as a man thinks so is he. In other words, take some time and ask yourself, "just who am I?" And once you determine who that is, make it a point for the rest of your life to be that person, and give your best contribution in life in helping someone else! Live life to the fullest, pursue your dreams, follow your passions, and make the most out of your time by discovering first, "who you really are"!

Looking for what seems lost.....

As a small boy growing up in the heart of what would be described as a jungle, Detroit Michigan. I was born in...let's just say a time when crime was prevalent, and injustice was rampant! In the midst of all the chaos and disillusionment, I was able to dream. Yes, in the midst of life's not so quite storms, I was a dreamer. Perhaps it was God's way of instilling in me a virtue, that even when the faint at heart lose their minds, and crisis have their way of causing people to go insane, He allowed me to have "Peace" in the midst of most of my storms. And yes their were storms, think of it this way, I'm 8 or 9 years old and just about to go to school, and just as I step outside my door in the projects, their lye a lifeless body of my upstairs neighbor. Lying their murdered from by an apparent act of ruthlessness or perhaps robbery or just plain madness, she was only 17 or so. Remarkably I was somehow able to process my mind on the day ahead, horrified? Yes. However undaunted, I became unaffected by the violence and trained to think or imagine a better place or another world. Hence, I became a Pirate:-) Not a mean or bad one, but one perhaps who sailed the oceans looking for a better world to explore. In my dreams I often came upon undaunted shores to soon discover a map in a bottle, and on this map was an X that marked the spot for buried treasure. What is the defining X in your life? Is their a place where something was lost, maybe a memory of something good or a time when you felt that nothing could stop you from pursuing your dreams? I'm of the kind, that believes that everything happens for a reason good and bad! Life is the sum total of everything I"ve experienced Good and Bad, and what we are today represents the finish product of those experiences, the good that I still embrace came from the bad that I wish I never had experienced. However, it was the searching for the treasure that seemed so exciting to me, and what made the whole entire experience a journey like no other. Little did I know that the search, was really a "gift" inside of me that gave me the ability to discover "hidden" treasures or gift & talents within the human soul. Somehow my determination to channel my thoughts and energy's past present dilemmas gave me the ability to believe and somehow come into contact with the intangible reality to the forces within our human souls. Long story short, I enjoy helping people discover their talent, strength's and gifting! Their is no greater joy than to see the light that shines in the eyes of someone whose eyes where demeaned if not closed because of huddles or barriers in their life circumstances or some other strange occurrence or something that prevents them from dreaming their dreams. In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: IT GOES ON!
